Here is our featured Champion:
Hike For Discovery is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's new adventure
fundraising program that prepares people, from beginners to seasoned hikers,
to experience a natural wonder in a special way. While training to descend
into the Grand Canyon, climb Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain, conquer Half
Dome in Yosemite, or enjoy the gorgeous waterfalls of Maui, individuals will
raise funds to cure blood cancers.
As a program participant, you will receive everything you need to be ready
for the experience of a lifetime:
- Professional training and coaching
- Clinics on hiking techniques, hydration, nutrition, trail safety, first
aid, and equipment
- The fun and camaraderie of training, traveling and socializing with a
group
- Transportation, lodging and social events during your stay
- One year membership in the American Hiking Society
In return, you will raise funds for lifesaving cancer research and services
for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. You'll meet an honored
patient, a blood cancer survivor whose battle will add special relevance to
your own achievements as a hiker and fundraiser.
